蔡继峰，男，1967年出生，中共党员，医学博士，法医学教授，硕士生导师、副主任法医师，法医学系学科带头人，中南大学基础医学院副院长兼法医学系及湘雅司法鉴定中心主任。

蔡继峰教授每年承担医学专业五年制、七年制、八年制本科生的法医学教学工作，多次获得中南大学教学质量优秀奖，在中国科技核心期刊发表教学论文6篇，2011年主讲的法医学被评为校级精品课程。还组织本科生成立兴趣小组参加法医学教学科研工作，指导法医学兴趣小组以第一作者身份发表论文16篇。
蔡继峰教授主要研究方向为法医昆虫学，作为课题负责人承担了多项科研任务，获得国家自然科学基金1项，国家博士后基金1项，省级科研基金3项，校级科研基金7项，近3年发表的科研学术论文24篇，其中14篇被SCI收录，Medline收录6篇，CSCD收录4篇，发表法医学专业综述9篇。主编了法医学教材《现代法医昆虫学》，主译了国外法医学专著《血痕形态分析》和《爆炸与冲击相关损伤》2部，参编法医学专著3部。指导硕士研究生6名，协助指导博士研究生4名。《法医学杂志》编委，第六版医学生本科教材《法医学》编委，Europeanjournalofentomology、Insectscience、journalofinsectscience、AfricanJournalofBiotechnology等SCI杂志审稿专家，《重庆医科大学学报》、《中华医学教育探索》、《昆虫知识》等杂志特约审稿专家。
蔡继峰教授是法医学高等教育教学指导委员会委员，中国法医学会会员和湖南省司法鉴定人协会常务理事，现为湖南省医学会医疗事故技术鉴定专家库成员，湖南省预防接种调查诊断专家，国家级实验室资格认证评审员，国家级检查机构资格认证评审员。2006、2007年连续2年被评为中南大学基础医学院优秀共产党，连续5年被评为中南大学基础医学院优秀教师，2007年被评为湖南省优秀青年骨干教师。2009-2010年度被司法部评为全国司法鉴定先进个人。
